What is 100FT, and how is it different from the social media I'm used to?
100FT is an app that lets you share and discover what's happening in the real world, right now. Instead of endless feeds of posts, 100FT pins moments to a live map, giving your experiences a real place. It's about seeing the world as it unfolds, not scrolling through a perfectly curated feed.
Do I need a profile or account to join 100FT?
No, you don't. You can start exploring and sharing moments immediately, completely anonymously. This means you can be yourself and share what's real without the pressure of maintaining a perfect profile.
Why do you allow users to be anonymous on 100FT?
Anonymity on 100FT is designed to create a more authentic and pressure-free environment. Without the need for a personal profile, you can share moments as they happen—freely and without the fear of judgment. We believe that sharing should be easy and fun, and by removing the focus on personal identity, we encourage you to be curious and discover the world around you in a raw, real, and happening way.
Why does 100FT require me to enable my location and post live photos instead of from my gallery?
100FT's core purpose is to be an authentic, real-time window into the world around you. By requiring your location and using live pictures, we ensure that every post is a genuine representation of what's happening at a specific place and time. This prevents content from being reposted or manipulated, and it makes the map a truly live and trustworthy feed of the world. It’s what makes 100FT different from every other social app—it's a raw and real look at your surroundings, not a curated or edited gallery.
How does enabling my location make the 100FT experience better?
Enabling your location is what makes 100FT's unique map-based experience possible. By grounding posts in their exact location, the app transforms into a dynamic discovery tool. You can explore what's happening in your neighborhood, find out about a spontaneous event across town, or see what's unfolding on the other side of the globe—all based on what real people are sharing, right where it's happening. Without location, 100FT would just be another feed, but with it, the world becomes your map.
How is 100FT different from Instagram?
While Instagram is about building a curated profile and sharing content with a personal following, 100FT is a live, shared experience. The key difference is that 100FT anchors every post to its exact location, which is why we require you to enable location services and post live pictures rather than from your gallery. This ensures that every moment you see on the map is an authentic, real-time representation of what's happening around you, not a curated memory from a different time or place. It's not about following a person's life; it's about seeing the world as it unfolds.
Where do my posts go? Do they disappear?
Posts on 100FT are anchored to the map for 24 hours by default, but as a user, you have the power to pin them so they last forever. This means the fleeting moments that matter to you can become permanent memories, saved to the places where they happened.
What kind of moments can I discover on 100FT?
From a spontaneous street concert to a unique art installation, 100FT shows you the real, unscripted moments happening in your neighborhood and around the globe. It's a window into the world, offering a new perspective you won't find on a traditional social feed.
What is the default life of a post on 100FT? Why?
By default, a post on 100FT has a life of 24 hours. The reason for this is to keep the content on the map fresh and relevant to what is happening right now. This design choice prevents the map from becoming cluttered with outdated content and encourages a sense of immediacy and spontaneity. However, if a moment is important to you, you have the option to "pin" it so it remains on the map indefinitely.
Anonymous should not equate to someone posting offensive content. What tools do I have to address it?
We agree completely. Anonymity is for sharing without pressure, not for harmful behavior. 100FT is built with community safety as a top priority. We provide every user with the ability to mute, block, and report content. If you see something that is offensive, harmful, or violates our standards, you can report it directly, and our moderation team will review it. You can also mute or block the content (see three vertical dots on the top right of your content). These tools ensure that even with anonymity, we maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
