What is 100ft, and how is it different from other social apps?
100ft lets you share and discover what's happening around you, right now. Every post is pinned to a live map, so moments are tied to the places where they happened. There's no algorithm deciding what you see and no curated feed designed to keep you scrolling.
Why does 100ft need my location, and why can't I post from my gallery?
100ft is built to be a real-time view of the world around you. Requiring your location and a photo taken in the moment means every post reflects a real place at a real time. It also stops content from being reposted or manipulated, which keeps the map trustworthy.
How does sharing my location improve the experience?
Location is what makes the map work. Because every post is placed where it was taken, you can see what's happening in your neighbourhood, find an event across town, or look at what people are sharing on the other side of the world.
How is 100ft different from Instagram?
Instagram is built around curated profiles and personal followings. 100ft is built around places and moments. Every post is anchored to where it was taken, which is why location access and in-the-moment photos are required.
How long do posts stay up?
Posts stay on the map for 24 hours by default, which keeps the map current. If a moment matters to you, you can pin it so it stays on the map permanently, saved to the place where it happened.
What kind of moments will I find on 100ft?
Anything people are sharing as it happens: a street concert, a new art installation, a busy night market. Unscripted moments from your neighbourhood and around the world.
What can I do if I see offensive or harmful content?
You can mute, block or report any post using the menu (⋮) in its top-right corner. Reports go to our moderation team for review, and content that breaks our Terms of Use is removed.
